An Eulerian-Lagrangian approach to the Navier-Stokes equations

We present a formulation of the incompressible viscous Navier-Stokes equation based on a generalization of the inviscid Weber formula, in terms of a diffusive “back-to-labels” map and a virtual velocity. We derive a generalization of the inviscid Cauchy formula and obtain certain bounds for the objects introduced.

Dynamic Fracture Analysis Using an Uncoupled Arbitrary Lagrangian Eulerian Finite Element Formulation

This paper deals with the implementation of an efficient Arbitrary Lagrangian Eulerian (ALE) formulation for the three dimensional finite element modeling of mode I self-similar dynamic fracture process. Contrary to the remeshing technique, the presented algorithm can continuously advance the crack with the one mesh topology. The uncoupled approach is employed to treat the equations. So, each t...

finite element simulation of c.v. joint forging of prid using arbitrary lagrangian-eulerian method

one of the most important parts of power transmission in automotives is c.v. joint, which consists of four components where exterior bowl is one of them. due to its complexity, and importance in automobile and existence of high stresses, forging process is the only cost effective method of production. hence, the best method of production of this part is forging process. the exterior part of c.v...

A Lagrangian approach for the compressible Navier-Stokes equations

Here we investigate the Cauchy problem for the barotropic Navier-Stokes equations in R , in the critical Besov spaces setting. We improve recent results (see [4, 8, 9]) as regards the uniqueness condition: initial velocities in critical Besov spaces with (not too) negative indices generate a unique local solution. Apart from (critical) regularity, the initial density just has to be bounded away...
